For some people it starts with a twitching finger, an extra stumble here and there, or a foggy memory. For others acting your dreams out or even loss of smell could be early signs of what's to come. 150,000 Australians are living with Parkinson's disease, a slow acting, debilitating progressive neurological disorder of the brain with no known cause or cure.

Professor Simon Lewis, Director of the Parkinson's Research Clinic at the Brain and Mind Centre at Sydney University is a leader in the field when it comes to treatment and research. He joined Nightlife listeners and Philip Clark to discuss what has changed in our understanding of the condition.
