In the 70s - jazz drummer Art Taylor wrote one of the most controversial, honest and insightful books ever written about jazz. Notes and Tones saw him interview other black jazz musos like Dexter Gordon, Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis and Nina Simone.

Forty-five years later trumpet player Jeremy Pelt has repeated this experiment, producing a book and album based on the conversations called Griot.

Guest: Jeremy Pelt, Jazz trumpeter, producer and educator
