Program: Elders share stories of Growing Up Wiradjuri

Space to play or pause, M to mute, left and right arrows to seek, up and down arrows for volume.

A few years ago Anita Heiss edited a biographical anthology called Growing Up Aboriginal in Australia.

The book, which featured 52 new and established writers, looked to capture both the unique and the universal experiences of growing up Aboriginal in Australia.

Now, four years later Anita has edited a new biographic anthology – Growing Up Wiradjuri.

Aunty Lorrain Tye, Uncle James Ingram, and Aunty Mary Atinkson are three of the Elders who contributed to the book.

They explain why they shared their stories, and what it was like growing up Wiradjuri.
