A bevvy of legends are making the pilgrimage to the UK for The Great Escape festival to show the brits what Australia sounds like.
Each year, The Great Escape lights up the British seaside city of Brighton with around 500 artists hitting the stage across 30 venues around the city. It's a hell of a 'do.
This year, a whopping 24 Australian artists will be showcasing the best and freshest from our neck of the woods with help from Sounds Australia. They'll be popping up on a few stages across Brighton and Brighton Beach, flexing their stuff to international music industry types and fans.
So who's headed across the pond for a long weekend in May to show the UK how it's done down under? We're so glad you asked.
Asha Jeffries, Cat & Calmell, Elsy Wameyo, Forest Claudette, Go-Jo, Gretta Ray, Gut Health, Kobie Dee, Radio Free Alice, Rum Jungle, Teenage Dads, The Belair Lip Bombs and The Buoys are just a taste of the talent heading over for the festival this year.
If you're in the area (lucky you!) you can catch all those acts at Sounds Australia's showcases at Komedia in Brighton on Thursday May 16 and TGE Beach at Brighton Beach on Saturday 18 May.
Over the past 15 years, Sounds Australia has brought the likes of Amyl & The Sniffers, Cub Sport, Sampa The Great, DMA's, Sycco, Tkay Maidza and Gang Of Youths to stages at The Great Escape, so you could be witnessing greatness kicking off this year.
