Cosmo's Midnight are keeping the summer vibes going on their first new music of the year.

Getting its first play anywhere on triple j Good Nights, 'Can't Do Without (My Baby)' has all of the Aussie duo's tropical-funk fingerprints - springy guitar, horns, timbales, the signature vibraslap - and is built on a sample of 'I Can't Do Enough For You Baby' by '70s RnB singer Tommy Tate.

Take a listen below via the Harry Scott-directed video, where a group of pals who discover the new Cosmo's single in a vinyl store before heading to a DJ set by the twins themselves.

Brothers Pat and Cosmo Liney say that the single aims to tap into nostalgia for an era they never experienced. "We wanted to capture the feel of coming of age at the turn of the millennium (even though we were just lil' babies at the time) when house music was in its golden age. It was celebratory and ecstatic, which is something we really try to bring out in our tunes. This song is really a celebration of that... ”

'Can't Do Without (My Baby)' is the first new Cosmo's Midnight release since last year's 'Titanic'. However, they spent most of the year flexing their production muscle on collaborations with Jitwam on 'Feel Good', BAYNK on 'How Does It Feel?', Yung Bae on 'Straight Up Relaxin'', and - in a delightful surprise - co-producing Jessica Mauboy's funky change-up 'Glow'.

Here's hoping those expanded horizons will soon come to bear on a follow-up to Cosmo's ARIA Award-nom'd second album Yesteryear and 2018 debut What Comes Next.
