If there was ever a perfectly-timed Like A Version, The Buoys' punchy run at Olivia Rodrigo's 'vampire' has got to be up there.
Almost by divine design, the Eora/Sydney four-piece stepped into the studio and blasted out their take on the GUTS hit the same week Olivia Rodrigo announced her debut tour of our shores.
Immediately file this under: "things you love to see" and also "perfect auditions for a surprise onstage collab".
With Rodrigo's addictive flavour of alt-indie-pop complimenting The Buoys' rock-driven sound perfectly, the band were able to bring the essential tongue-in-cheek, eye-rolling and lollipop-sucking track to a grittier and grander level.
"That album is insane, but it's also probably the one off that album that isn't as rock-heavy and not as guitar focused," singer Zoe Catterall said.
"So as a guitar band, we thought that would be a really fun one to tackle."
Filled with instrumental builds and arena-filling energy, The Buoys have done more than just tackle this track - they've dominated it.
