What is Second Life?
Second Life is a 3D virtual environment. Within the computer-rendered world, users can create their own identity (known as an 'avatar') and interact with others in a lifelike social space. It is not a game as there is no objective. It is a space for creating, socialising, dancing, flying or simply exploring. A number of commercial, government and educational organisations are setting up a presence in Second Life - including the ABC with its trial virtual ABC Island.

Auntie's Building Challenge
Auntie's Building Challenge
The building challenge allows participants the chance to compete against each other in a themed building event. Participants will be allowed 30 minutes to build an item associated with the theme. At the end of the time limit, participants then vote for the best builds. The winner of each group will win “bragging rights” and their build will be displayed for the next fortnight on ABC Island.
It does not matter if you are old or new, there are categories for both, so there is no excuse not to come along and join in with the ABC Island Second Life community.
