Shuttle's blast-off aborted

US space shuttle Endeavor has failed to blast off as scheduled, causing a delay of at least 24 hours in its mission to help build the International Space Station.

A technical glitch a few minutes before launch closed the narrow window of opportunity for Endeavor's rendezvous with Zaria, the first module of the space station put in orbit by the Russians on November 20.

The Endeavor's 11-day space mission calls for attaching a 13-tonne, six-sided hub called Unity to Zaria, for which two astronauts will go on three, six-hour-long spacewalks some 340 kilometers above Earth.
