Corporate childhood
Does corporate and commercial culture negatively influence children, or are they savvy media consumers who can see through marketing techniques?
Some are convinced that corporate culture is responsible for a decline in the wellbeing of young people in recent decades.
Sharon Beder, a visiting professor at Wollongong University, is co-author of a new book, This little kiddy went to market: the corporate capture of childhood.
