Posted July 29, 2010 10:40:00

Police say they found 24 kilograms of cannabis after stopping a driver for speeding at West Wyalong last night.

Officers searched the hire car after allegedly smelling cannabis on the woman who was driving.

They found bags of the drug in the boot and the haul has an estimated street value of $150,000.

The 47-year-old Queensland woman is due to face Griffith Local Court today charged with possessing a commercial quantity of a prohibited drug.

Meanwhile, a fight over the use of a poker machine in West Wyalong last night resulted in two men being glassed.

Police say the 21-year-old men needed stitches for head cuts after being hit by another man with what is believed to have been a schooner glass.

They are seeking witnesses to the assault which happened just after 11:00pm (AEST) in the gaming area of a club in Monash Street.
