Opposition raises concerns over travel ban bill

The Coalition has called for extensive amendments to Labor’s deportation bill, including mandatory consideration of the best interests of children before exercising new ministerial powers.

A government-led senate committee recommended just one change to the bill but the coalition made 17 recommendations and the Greens are saying the bill needs to be scrapped.
