The waste industry has welcomed the news that a so-called "recycling tax," which was planned for waste exports from July, will be scrapped.
The Environment Minister says the levy would have pushed more items that could have been recycled into storage or landfill.
Now the industry wants to see a complete overhaul of the rules governing recycling in Australia.
